Music Director: Wainuiomata Choir

Come and make music with the Wainuiomata Choir!

We’re looking for a Musical Director to conduct our choir from February 2018. We’ve existed for over 40 years, now with a wide-ranging repertoire of both sacred and secular pieces.

You’ll have a depth of experience and vision to help build a vibrant, choral repertoire for a small, non-auditioned, adult choir of 25 experienced choral singers. You'll be keen to work with a progressive and dedicated Committee contributing ideas for our wider musical programme, development and promotion.

You’ll be positive, energetic and creative. Your background will embrace different musical styles. Through choral music, you’ll take a lead in connecting us with our local community, helping build our audiences and growing our member numbers. With a ‘singing for pleasure’ ethos, we focus on presenting three performances each year. We rehearse weekly from February to December and have a top-class pianist to accompany us in rehearsals and performances. This is a paid position for two hours per week, plus performance time.

Interested? Please email your details the Chairperson, David Barrow, to thewainuiomtachoir@gmail.com or call David on 027 452 3536 for an initial discussion.

Christchurch Pops Choir seeks new Artistic Director
The Christchurch Pops Choir is seeking a new Artistic Director to start in early 2018. This is a great opportunity for a dynamic musical leader to assume the role.
We are a choir of 80-90 singers aged from 20 to 65 who sing choral arrangements of popular music- Gospel-Gershwin-Gaga and anything in between. Founded by Luke di Somma in June 2011, the choir has been led by Ravil Atlas since 2015. We perform to a high standard and are looking for a new artistic director who can sustain this level and continue our growth as singers, musicians and performers. We love what we do, but want to go on getting better.
The Christchurch Pops Choir is well established as an
important part of Christchurch’s musical landscape. We have performed at many charitable, civic and corporate events, supported by our principal sponsor, Christchurch International Airport. We have also thrilled audiences with our vibrant versions of popular music in our annual concerts in Christchurch and around the South Island.
For more information and a job description please email Choir Manager Sue Bealing at info@christchurchpopschoir.co.nz
Applications close 10 February 2018.
