OVERVIEW
The NZCF provides a wide range of activities and initiatives designed to support, stimulate and extend choral singers and conductors throughout the country.
These include:
- The NZCF Association of Choral Directors
An association within the NZCF, providing professional development for our choral directors and continuing to build a mentoring network for them;
- THE BIG SING
The national secondary schools’ choral festival, with around 7,500 singers taking part in eleven centres throughout New Zealand each year;
- THE KIDS SING
Primary and intermediate school choir festivals;
- The NZCF SingFest
Community and chamber choir festivals;
- SOUNZ Choral Composition Awards
A competition for the best new choral piece composed by a New Zealand secondary school student;
- Workshops
Regionally-based courses for singers and/or conductors;
- Sing Aotearoa Te Puna o te Wairua
NZCF's national choral festival, celebrating our unique cultural heritage and featuring guest practitioners and performers, as well as our own top chamber choirs and a special commission from a NZ composer.
