International conference for leaders of children’s choirs
Are you a choral conductor, a choir leader or teaching at primary level?
Then this is an excellent opportunity to learn new choral skills one-on-one from our exceptional tutors. Observe practice in action as Elise Bradley works with the course choir, Kids of Note. Whatever your music leadership experience, this conference is for all leaders of children’s choirs from those just starting out to the very experienced.
Meet the conference presenters and other delegates for refreshments at the end of the first day.
Each day begins at 9.30am (tea and coffee is available from 8.30am) and concludes around 8.00pm. The programme includes workshops on conducting technique, running effective rehearsals for children, working with young voices, and choosing repertoire for children’s choirs. Each day significant time will be dedicated to observing Elise Bradley working with the Kids of Note choir. There will be time to talk with our highly-skilled tutors, make friends and share ideas with other delegates. The Young Direction conference will conclude with the Kids of Note public concert on Thursday 14 July at 3.30pm.
Choosing repertoire is one of the most important decisions you make as a conductor. Elise Bradley and Megan Flint will identify strategies for picking great songs for your choir.
