Recently the Kapiti Chamber Choir and Renaissance Singers collaborated in a concert.
Eric Sidoti writes: “We circulated major choirs in the Palmerston North, Hutt Valley, and Wellington areas, offering spots for their individual singers. Renaissance Singers saw this as an opportunity to join with us as a full choir, and the two choirs were indeed suitably matched in capability and experience. Initially a meeting was held via Skype to discuss some of the basic logistics and expectations. Further communication was handled via phone and email. I went to Palmerston North to conduct a four-hour rehearsal with the Renaissance Singers, and a number of their members traveled south for several rehearsals with Kapiti Chamber Choir. It was an extremely successful arrangement, and one that I would readily consider pursuing again.”
The concert, this time directed by Guy Donaldson, will be repeated on Sunday 20 May at St Peters Church in Palmerston North with the same soloists but accompanied by Jonathan Berkahn, organist.
