INTERKULTUR and the Rundfunkchor Berlin are hosting the Sing Along project »Sing Along Concert ONLINE« from May 5-11 under the artistic direction of Simon Halsey and will bring together singers from all over the world in a digital way in order to sing together from their homes.
In order to enable people to sing together in times of the pandemic, INTERKULTUR and the Rundfunkchor Berlin are calling all interested singers to participate in the international online Sing Along project “Sing Along Concert ONLINE” from May 5-11. On the rehearsal schedule: “Ein Deutsches Requiem” by Johannes Brahms.
Starting on Tuesday, May 5 (NZ time) and continuing over the following days, there will be a daily 30-minute virtual rehearsal for the fellow singers, starting at 7.30am (NZ time) via the Facebook event »Sing Along Concert ONLINE« or the YouTube accounts of the Rundfunkchor Berlin as well as INTERKULTUR. The rehearsals will be directed by the honorary conductor of the Rundfunkchor Berlin, Simon Halsey, who – also from home – will give valuable advice on the choral parts of the “Deutsches Requiem”. Furthermore, the Rundfunkchor Berlin will be heard in each rehearsal. The rehearsal schedule includes one new movement from “Ein Deutsches Requiem” on every day of the week.
The engagement with this masterpiece of choral literature will culminate in the virtual final meeting on Sunday, May 11 at 07:30 am (NZ time) together with the Rundfunkchor Berlin that will be appearing – although virtually. Together with the Rundfunkchor Berlin, the fellow singers will perform the 4th movement of the Brahms-Requiem: “Wie lieblich sind Deine Wohnungen”.
