The Big Sing/Ministry of Youth Development ‘Spirit of the Festival’ Youth Ambassadors Award

The Ministry of Youth Development (MYD) is supporting The Big Sing (TBS) for the third consecutive year, in recognition of the ways in which TBS festivals offer development opportunities to student singers, conductors, composers and accompanists.

As the result of this partnership, choirs are cordially invited to apply for the ‘Spirit of the Festival’ Youth Ambassadors Award.

Entry is by way of a paragraph (pre-endorsed by the school principal) explaining how the choir and its members exemplify the spirit of The Big Sing – how they encourage leadership, community participation, collaboration and innovation.

To enter, click on this link: Regional Spirit of the Festival Award Application Form 2019

Entries must be received within one week of the starting date of the entrant’s regional festival.

The Award winner in each region will receive a $500 prize, an award certificate and acknowledgment through our website, eBreve and on social media.

Any enquiries should be made to:
The Big Sing National Coordinator Elizabeth Crayford elizabeth.crayford@nzcf.org.nz

TBS conductors may also like to nominate one of their students for an MYD New Zealand Youth Award. Nominations are to be made via the MYD’s online nominations form and close at midnight on Wednesday 15 May 2019.
