The Big Sing 2018 National Finale Awards

Here is the full list of awards presented at the Gala Concert, at the Michael Fowler Centre on Saturday 1st August. Congratulations to all who took part!

Performances will be uploaded to The Big Sing Youtube channel within the next week, but in the meantime, if you want to watch the Gala all over again on the big screen, tune in to Face TV (Sky Channel 83) this Monday 10th at 6.30pm after Checkpoint with John Campbell for a repeat screening of the whole fabulous evening!

Bronze:

The NZCF/SOUNZ Choral Composition Award

Hutt City Trophy – Best Performance in category one (New Zealand of Pasifika composition).

• Saints Alive – St Cuthbert’s College (for The Early Morning)

Tour Time Trophy – Best performance in category two (Classical, from medieval to present day, and written for choir or vocal ensemble).
• Bel Canto – Burnside High School (for Valkyrie)

Auahi Kore Performance Award – Best total performance of a work using Māori text.
• Fortissimo – Dilworth School (for E te Atua)

The Big Sing Youth Ambassadors Award – For the choir that demonstrates outstanding engagement with all elements of the Finale.
• Leonessa – Takapuna Grammar School
